As a board member, you have that opportunity.

Every September, board nominations for the following year are accepted.

A nominating committee — generally consisting of the president, executive vice president, immediate past president and senior advisor — prepares a slate for presentation in October. The slate is then presented to the chapter membership for a vote in November. Newly elected board members begin their yearlong term in January.

To be considered for a position on the board of directors, members first should demonstrate their commitment in the successful execution of one or more committee roles or have experience with another nonprofit organization.
